1. How would you describe your work in connection with typography and multimedia?
I try to see type as a moving graphic element, and so it can maximize the user experience in multimedia contents.

2. In dynTypo I'm collecting examples of artists, studios/projects where dynamic typography is used in cooperation with design and multimedia arts. Examples: John Maeda, Peter Cho, Andreas Müller, Yugo Nakamura, Jason Lewis, Letterror, etc. Is anyone else dealing with these issues that are important/influential for you? If so, why do you think they are important for your work?
Definately I was inspired by John Maeda and Yugo Nakamura. I really like Maeda\'s work in that he demonstrated how interactive moving type can be beautifully composited in the early days (even before a lot of people are playing around with cool experiments using Director or Flash). Nakamura showcased how interactive moving type can be created in networked environment, which gave me a lot of ideas for creating typorganism.com site.

3. Did you study dynamic typography at school?
Well, not really. My major was Computer Art in graduate school, and my major in undergraduate was Math. I guess I was mainly inspired by looking at many online works and by living everyday life. Also, I was influenced by a lot of beautiful film title sequences. 'Description' piece in typorganism.com was made after I saw the film title sequence of the feature film "Hollow Man".

4. How do you see yourself as a designer or a multimedia artist?
Since I've been mainly doing programming in a company (Firstborn Multimedia), I'm more like an interactive programmer, rather than a designer or an artist. But, I'm missing those days when I created typorganism site. I'll do that sort of experiments and some arty projects in the future.

5. Can you identify some restrictions/limitations in the software you are using? If so, please specify?
The software that I'm living with is flash and flash movie definately relies on CPU power and the playback performance slows down a lot if you have a lot of objects on the screen at the same time. Although it got better in flash 8 since it has new feature called 'Bitmap Caching', it's still comparatively slower than other sophisticated programming languages like Java or C.

6. How do you see the use of self-made programs for dynamic typography? And what do you think of using it for both 'personal research' and commissioned projects?
(sorry i don't understand this question very well)

7. How do you think dynamic typography can improve our daily basis life? In other words, what do you think about the usage of dynamic typography?
If it's created well, the motion and interactivity applied in typography can maximize its own expression, and it can broaden the communication environment and the whole experience.

8. How do you see the future of dynamic typography evolution?
It will evolve into more dynamic and more interactive form. We'll see more dynamic typography in every visual media. It will be combined with 3d environment, video composition, and/or networked user-interaction environment.

Thank you!
