1. How would you describe your work in connection with typography and multimedia?
I am a graphic design student at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. My work often involves use of scripted tools and automated processes.

2. In dynTypo I'm collecting examples of artists, studios/projects where dynamic typography is used in cooperation with design and multimedia arts. Examples: John Maeda, Peter Cho, Andreas Müller, Yugo Nakamura, Jason Lewis, Letterror, etc. Is anyone else dealing with these issues that are important/influential for you? If so, why do you think they are important for your work?
Juerg Lehni - In his work the art doesn't come straight from the tool, but the use of the tool. There is a good seperation between making a tool and using it that I appreciate in his work.

3. Did you study dynamic typography at school?
No.

4. How do you see yourself as a designer or a multimedia artist?
The idea of someone who uses different kinds of media being different from a designer is already outdated. How about conditional designer? Personally I'm not really into titles (just don't call me an artist)

5. Can you identify some restrictions/limitations in the software you are using? If so, please specify?
There are too many to mention, but every limitation is good. I see it as my work to look for new exploitable limitations.

6. How do you see the use of self-made programs for dynamic typography? And what do you think of using it for both 'personal research' and commissioned projects?
Whenever typography can be more then pure textual information with a repetetive layer of style, I support it. My interest lies in finding new ways to present print related typography, and I use self-made programs for dynamic typography for both personal research and commissioned projects.

7. How do you think dynamic typography can improve our daily basis life? In other words, what do you think about the usage of dynamic typography?
I think the most boring and economically viable uses of dynamic typography will end up improving our lives. My interest in dynamic typography is on a much smaller scale.

8. How do you see the future of dynamic typography evolution?
Designers will able to make their own tools. Drawing with a pencil on the computer is nothing more then checking mouse coordinates and making little boxes of color when the mouse is down. I believe we as designers can do more then that.

Thank you!
